March

The March of the Living consisted of one week in Poland, where I saw various concentration camps and participated in a march from Auschwitz to Birkenau with Jews from all over the world, and another week in Israel, where I participated in a second march. Besides the basic facts, this journey remains unexplainable, but I am left with my sketches and photographs, made throughout the trip, to aid in sharing my experience. This book features sketches from my time in Poland, some overlaying photographs I took in Israel. The words are adaptations from a letter written by Mordechai Anielewicz, who helped initiate the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the single largest Jewish armed resistance against the Nazis during the Holocaust.

This dos-à-dos book, part drum binding and part tunnel book, was made in an edition of 4.
