Rich Coast

Herman, a grumpy door-to-door salesman and immigrant to Costa Rica, accompanied by his assistant Jose, an easygoing Tico, embarks in his jeep on a rugged business trip to sell fabric in the distant province of Guanacaste. Set in 1950s Costa Rica, Herman and Jose’s adventure reveals a terrain both beautiful and threatening. Along the way, Herman gains a friend in Jose and learns some hard earned lessons from nature, witnessing the consequences of placing work and material possessions first in the larger scheme of things.
